Job Summary

The Business Unit Developer is responsible in identifying trendsetter ideas by researching industry events, publications and announcements, locating potential business partners, analyzing market strategies and closing new business deals to better value Gannage and its operations.

He/she builds market position by locating, developing, and defining, negotiating, closing business relationships and enhances the company’s reputation by exploring opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of Sales Reps and Senior Sales Reps by organizing their rotation plan, the schedule of coverage, their routing, days off, etc.
  • Prepare business plan and SWOT analysis for each of the products/equipment (including new ones, when available) and submit it to the management.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products/equipment, and distribution channels.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Conduct research to identify new markets, customer needs and develop the pipeline of new business coming in to the company.
  • Conduct researches regarding all needed information related to products/equipment, competition, technical information, new suppliers, etc. that fall within the scope of the Department.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Support the team with their visits to the market in order to guide their achievement in the 4 sales pillars: Interviewing, presenting, closing and follow up once needed.
  • Provide strong leadership for sales teams to ensure their achievement of sales targets. 
  • Communicate the company rules and regulations the team and manage their performance in the best way for the good of the company.
  • Recruit and coach sales reps, in coordination with the HR, on professional knowledge and job-related skills.
  • Set up KPIs to appraise staff’s performance. 
  • Set up and manage customer’s profile, develop potential customers to widen business activities which ensure strategic and financial growth.
  • Manage the complete follow up of the Department’s clientele and solve all related issues in coordination with other related departments.
  • Drive the Department for optimum sales results.
  • Issuance and signature of offers for the products/equipment in coordination with the Administration Department, as per the management guidelines.
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Coordinate with the marketing department regarding marketing strategies.
  • Provide a signed detailed professional report, including conclusions and recommendations, related to each exhibition, training or any other event attended, whether locally or abroad, within one week of time, and present it to management accordingly.
  • Research for new suppliers and follow up with the legal department on the signature of the exclusive agreements with these suppliers.
  • Implement all the company policies, procedures and work instructions as described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance.
  • Perform other duties related to the field.

Key Skills and Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent (an MBA is a plus).
  • More than 5 years of proven experience in effective principles and practices of sales is a must.
  • Expertise of business principles.
  • 8-10 years of experience in sales including 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with good command in English (French is a pus).
  • Proficient in office management systems and procedures.
  • Excellent managerial skills with proven ability to achieve sales targets.
  • Excellent leadership and man- management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Competent in team building, planning, and decision making.
  • Skills in numerical and statistical analysis.
